Alice Goldsmith Ceramics
ALICE GOLDSMITH was born and raised in Chicago, and has lived in New York City since 1984. Self taught, her formal education trained her as a nurse, and her career experience with fashion design and food have contributed to her work in ceramics. Her designs are inspired by ancient art, and architecture, and evoke forms found in nature. Time spent in a commercial kitchen encouraged her to develop her own lead free glazes, and a classic color pallette that blends seamlessly together from season to season. Whether creating work for commercial or residential settings, her aesthetic is both practical, and timeless, with a casual sophistication that enhances any décor. Each piece is made by hand in her Brooklyn studio, of porcelain and is extremely durable, dishwasher and microwave safe.
